Description

Visual Literacy for the Info Lit Instructor

Visual literacy can seem like just the latest buzzword, or a term relegated to art and museum libraries, but librarians have actually been incorporating it all along. As teachers of information literacy we expect our students to evaluate information found in text, but also how to read charts, identify bias in infographics, or tell whether a photograph has been edited. Join academic-turned-art librarian Micki Harrington for an introduction to visual literacy outcomes, examples of the amazing work librarians are already doing, and ideas for larger initiatives at your institution. Micki is the Art & Design Librarian at Lesley University Library.

This webinar is free and open to everyone. You will receive a confirmation email and access link within minutes of submitting your registration. The webinar will be recorded and made available to attendees and the general public after the event.
